About the Journal

URBEāctĭo it is a Magazine of Urban Planning, Territory and Architecture, it is a scientific publication of the Postgraduate and Research Section of the Higher School of Engineering and Architecture Tecamachalco of the National Polytechnic Institute. It is a biannual, blind peer-reviewed (double external review) and free access journal. Its vision is to disseminate and expose, based on original scientific publications, new inter- and transdisciplinary theoretical-methodological approaches, which establish and enrich the continuous dialogue between research in the fields of urban-territorial and architecture, with the aim of promoting new knowledge.

URBEāctĭo Its approach is that the proposed research work must be within the following urban-territorial and architectural themes and/or related themes:

1. sustainable planning, planning, design, project, organization, management and urban-territorial and architectural renewal;

2. social and vernacular housing, environment, climate change, risk and resilience;

3. postmodernity, territory, culture, gender, identities and daily life;

4. urban-architectural technology;


5. urban-architectural art, tangible and intangible urban-architectural heritage;

6. sustainable urban-territorial development of local, regional and global structures, and

7. landscape and urban imaginaries.

OPEN CALL FOR PUBLISHING IN VOLUME 2, NUMBER 4 APRIL 2026. Thematic dossier entitled “Designing participatory processes for territorial management and regeneration”.

We are calling for submissions to the
thematic dossier entitled "Designing
participatory processes for land
management and regeneration," which will
be published in Volume 2, Number 4. The
dossier seeks contributions that address
and formulate innovative theoretical and
methodological frameworks for the design
of participatory processes inspired by
the principles of direct and cooperative
democracy in the management and
regeneration of urban and rural spaces,
with the aim of building, through these
interventions, higher levels of social
and environmental justice.
