The historical and territorial context of Latin
America, marked by the aftermath of colonization,
socio-structural inequality, and a rich cultural
diversity, shapes the dynamics of urban mobility
and the narratives that construct it
(Romero and Lugo, 2018).
These particularities demand a questioning of
homogenizing global urban models that are often
inadequate for local realities, as they generate
exclusionary cities focused on technological and
palliative solutions that, moreover, perpetuate
extractive and consumerist practices that
exacerbate social and climate crises
(Smith, 2009).
