The Journal
URBEāctĭo is a Journal of Urbanism, Territory, and Architecture, founded in November 2023. It is a scientific publication of the Postgraduate and Research Section of the Higher School of Engineering and Architecture Tecamachalco of the National Polytechnic Institute. It is a biannual, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal under the CC: BY-NC-ND license.
VISION:
URBEāctĭo, Journal of Urbanism, Territory, and Architecture, is a scientific publication of the Postgraduate and Research Section of the Higher School of Engineering and Architecture of the National Polytechnic Institute. It is a biannual, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal. Its vision is to disseminate and present, through original scientific publications, new theoretical and methodological approaches that establish and enrich the ongoing dialogue between research in the fields of urban-territorial studies and architecture, in order to foster new knowledge.
MISSION:
URBEāctĭo. The Journal of Urbanism, Territory, and Architecture aims to be a space for developing and promoting analytical, critical, and reflective thinking through the dissemination of innovative scientific articles on theoretical and empirical research with inter- and transdisciplinary approaches. It seeks to engage the scientific community of national and international institutions in the urban-territorial and architectural fields, as well as related areas of knowledge.
SCOPE: URBEāctĭo. Journal of Urbanism, Territory, and Architecture aims to be a national and international forum for researchers, academics, professionals, and students. Its scope is to present original, theoretical, and empirical scientific research that explores the multiple dimensions of urban-territorial and architectural research from an inter- and transdisciplinary perspective, linked to the environment and human sustainability.
FOCUS:URBEāctĭo. Journal of Urbanism, Territory, and Architecture focuses on research projects that fall within the themes of urban, territorial, and architectural issues, specifically within one of the following sub-themes:a) sustainable urban, territorial, and architectural planning, design, project development, organization, management, and renewal; b) social and vernacular housing, environment, climate change, risk, and resilience; c) postmodernity, territory, culture, gender, identities, and everyday life; d) urban-architectural technology; e) urban-architectural art, tangible and intangible urban-architectural heritage; f) sustainable urban-territorial development of local, regional, and global structures; andg) urban landscape and imaginaries. URBEāctĭo is a journal of urban planning, territory, and architecture that accepts submissions of academic articles and reviews of original texts, theoretical or empirical research, current urban-territorial and/or architectural issues, and related topics. Submitted manuscripts should adhere to the following guidelines:
1. For scientific articles: a. 6,000 to 8,000 words (30-35 pages); b. Garamond font; c. 1.15 line spacing; and d. Bold subheadings, and
2. For reviews: a. 1,200 to 1,800 words (1 to 5 pages); b. Garamond font; c. 1.15 line spacing; and d. Bold subheadings.
The critical apparatus to be used will be APA 2024 or later.
