Abstract

The city is not merely a stage; it is an
epistemic laboratory that, for over a century,
has tested the categories of the social
sciences. The imprint of urban life has
profoundly shaped the debates of historians,
sociologists, economists, political
scientists, and anthropologists,
who problematize the socio-spatial processes
that create tension and configure cities.
This issue proposes a situated
examination of these processes
using contemporary qualitative methodologies,
with the aim of exploring their analytical
power, their thematic tensions, and their
explanatory scope.
